Pocket Sky

Make a constellation. Or leave the night whole.

Toggle any lights you like. Seven is the ceiling, not a goal. Pocket Sky does not name, interpret, rank, or ask you to finish the pattern.

Pocket Sky does not name, score, or interpret your pattern. Its gameplay sets no account, timer, cookie, or persisted round and sends no gameplay action. The separate dawn/night control may remember only your appearance choice in this browser. When served from the web, the host can still receive the ordinary requests for this page and its files; a person or software controlling this tab can inspect its memory while the round is open.

Play without the script: draw a 5×5 square on paper and place up to seven marks anywhere inside it. Stop at any number, including zero. Rest the paper face-up, clear it, or leave. There is no score. The complete machine-readable boundaries remain in sky.json.
the whole toy

Twenty-five places. At most seven lights.

Use Tab to enter the sky, arrow keys to move, and Space or Enter to toggle a light. Home and End move across a row; hold Control or Command to reach the first or last light.

the tiny rulebook

Light. Rest. Clear. Leave.

01 · light

Choose, don’t solve

Toggle zero to seven places. A hollow star is unlit; a solid star is lit. Colour is never the only signal.

02 · rest

Hold without a loop

Rest closes the pattern to light changes exactly where it is; Clear remains available. The page runs no timer, animation loop, sound, or automatic next step.

03 · clear

Erase without consequence

Clear removes every light. Reloading or leaving does the same. Pocket Sky keeps no round to recover.

“A pattern may be held without being explained.”
